What it is

"Shadow AI" is AI that a company uses without knowing it: a developer added an AI service to a script, a contractor's code sends customer data to an AI model, a library calls one in the background. Companies can't protect, budget for, or disclose AI they don't know about.

The scanner reads code (it does not run it) and lists each place that imports an AI library or calls an AI service's web address, with a risk score. Ordinary code scores zero.
