Payment Mandate Guard makes an AI shopping agent stick to exactly what a person approved: right store, right items, right bank account, right amount.

What it is

Some AI agents can now shop and pay for you: "buy me an Apple Watch under $500". The danger is that the agent can be fooled. It can land on a fake copy of a real store, obey a hidden line on a product page that adds a gift card, or pay the right store's invoice into a criminal's bank account.

Payment Mandate Guard sits between the agent and the checkout. A person first signs a mandate: a short, digitally signed permission slip that says which stores, which items, how much in total, how much per purchase, and for how long. Before every purchase the guard compares the agent's cart with that slip. Anything that does not match is refused; big purchases wait for the person; every decision gets a signed receipt.

It authorizes purchases. It does not move money itself: it tells the payment step yes, no, or ask the person.

An everyday comparison

A company purchase order. The supplier can only be paid what the signed purchase order says, to the account on file. The guard is the accounts clerk who checks every invoice against it, and never gets tired.

How it works, in 4 steps

1. A person signs a mandate: allowed stores, items, budget, per-purchase limit, expiry.
2. The agent builds a cart and asks the guard before paying.
3. The guard checks the store's real address, the payee's bank account, the items, the totals, the budget and the time.
4. It answers ALLOW, DENY, or REQUIRE_APPROVAL (the person must confirm), with a signed receipt for each step.
