Terms of the preview
Free until 1 January 2027
The hosted preview is free, rate-limited per visitor, and changes on 2027-01-01 UTC. No card, no key.
What is free
Every AETHER-33 operation in the hosted preview is free until 2027-01-01T00:00:00Z: write, recall, read, tombstone, release, audit, invariants. There is no card and no signup. The cutoff is evaluated against the server clock on every request, not stored in a marketing banner.
Fair use limits
- Per-visitor daily quota on writes and recalls. Exceeding it returns HTTP 429 with the reset time, not a silent partial write.
- Per-visitor identity is the
X-CAIN-Visitorhash you send, or a hash of your client address if you send none. Send a stable value to keep your memories across sessions. - Storage is ephemeral by design for the preview: the hosted instance may be reset. Keep your own copy of anything you need to retain.
What happens on 2027-01-01
The free window closes. The service keeps working for platform subscribers under normal terms; the preview route returns HTTP 402 with a link to pricing rather than silently deleting data. No data is deleted as a result of the cutoff.
Honesty note
“Free” here means no charge is made for these calls. It does not mean the service is a charity, that capacity is unlimited, or that the preview carries a support commitment. The underlying models are not involved — this service makes no model calls, so there is no token bill to absorb.
