Continuous re-authorization (ARGUS)
Authorization at launch is not enough: agents drift. ARGUS treats authority as a lease that must keep being re-proven against the agent's behavioural envelope and actual execution path.
Drift is graded from NO_CHANGE (continue) to CRITICAL (halt). Independent verifiers must agree; disagreement never allows. The agent cannot renew or certify its own lease.
Limits: the stages bind CAIN's decision path, not a customer's downstream execution, and lease state is replayed per call.
Key points
- Authority is a lease.
- Compare actual path to the envelope.
- CRITICAL drift halts.
- No self-renewal.
- Know the limits.
